Jackson College and Michigan Works! Southeast have come together to offer select Jackson College programs for little to no cost for eligible participants.
Prospective students can complete a college certificate in 12 months or less, putting them on the road to career opportunities and a brighter future. Those without a high school diploma are eligible for expanded services to help them obtain a high school equivalency certificate while they are pursuing a college degree or certificate.

Electric Vehicle Jobs Academy Programs
Electric Vehicle Jobs Academy
The State of Michigan has made significant investments in the formation of the Electric Vehicle Jobs Academy (EV Jobs Academy) to develop postsecondary certification and degree programs that meet industry needs and lead to high-skills and high-wage employment opportunities for Michigan residents.
The EV Jobs Academy is designed to provide Michiganders with tuition assistance and supportive services, including “earn while you learn” opportunities through a Registered Apprenticeship, to support and streamline on-ramps to high-wage, in-demand careers.

Who is Connect with My Future designed for?
Connect with My Future is designed for those who:
- Are currently enrolled in classes and in need of financial help with tuition, books, fees, uniforms, etc.;
- Have some credits and want to return to college;
- Are unemployed or recently laid-off and seeking training opportunities;
- Need to complete a High School Diploma or equivalency and looking to move into a new career; and/or
- Interested in attending college for the first time.

Can I start my Jackson College Classes while finishing my High School Diploma?
Did you know you can complete your high school equivalency while going to college for little to no cost? Michigan Works! Southeast Adult Education may be able to assist with high school completion or equivalency, sometimes called your GED test.
With the Jackson College’s Ability to Benefit Program, college can be accessible and affordable for students without a high school diploma by making financial aid available. Students without a high school diploma must pay for the first six college credits out of pocket (self-pay) or use other aid funds.* When they successfully complete those six credits, the student is eligible for federal student aid funding. They must remain enrolled in equivalency coursework and college classes.

- You will complete a full eligibility intake through Michigan Works! Southeast
- You will complete a Jackson College new student application, Free Application for Federal Student Aid, and orientation
- You will complete assessments to help you find your purpose

Will there be anyone to help me with my college classes?
Yes, Michigan Works! Southeast and Jackson College have services to assist you with your college classes! Below are services available to individuals enrolled in Connect with My Future.
MWSE Adult Education Remedial Tutoring
MWSE Adult Education will help with computer, math, or reading skills to help you be successful in your classes. You will receive free tutoring or instruction from a certified teacher.
MWSE Adult EducationJackson College Center for Student Success Tutoring Center
Jackson College is committed to student success and offers all students free academic tutoring in a friendly and supportive environment. Our goal is to provide individualized or group assistance that helps you succeed in your academics.
Online tutoring is also available for select classes.

What if I need help paying for things outside of tuition?
Additional financial support may be available for eligible individuals to offer assistance with specific barriers, so that you can focus on being successful. Once you complete intake, you will be assigned a case manager at MWSE or navigator at Jackson College. Make sure you share these concerns with them, they want to help connect you with available resources or services.

Why should I connect with Michigan Works! Southeast?
MWSE and Jackson College are working together to combine federal and state funding sources, based on specific eligibility criteria customized for each eligible customer. In order to see if you may be eligible, intake through MWSE is required, prior to registering for any classes.
